For 80 years, people the length and breadth of Ireland have relied on Calor to heat their homes and for gas for cooking.  As Calor mark this milestone birthday, they are also celebrating the local retailers associated with the company.  In Enniscorthy, when people think Calor, chances are they think of Rowsomes.

Rowsomes: a trusted Calor retailer

Rowsomes has been part of life in Enniscorthy for over 70 years.  A traditional country store that sold everything from a needle to an anchor, Rowsomes is run by Michael and Alice Rowsome and their two sons Robert and Edmund.  The shop was established in the 1940’s by Michael’s parents.  Michael was just four when the store opened.  “When we started, we made our deliveries on an ass and cart".
Like many such stores, local loyalty has been important to the business.

“We have customers who are with us all my life and all theirs. We are very grateful for that.”

A strong future with Calor

Rowsomes start stocking Calor in 1972, the relationship has been strong ever since. “The quality of service has always been good and the safety is second to none.  All the Calor products are checked and sealed, that’s very important to us.”

Now in its third generation, Rowsomes will be part of the Enniscorthy landscape, as a Calor dealer, for many years to come.
